Thankfullness

There is so much in life to be thankful for. Waking up every morning is a gift. The gift of seeing the sun, your spouse, your children, your family and friends. such daily treasures. Do we really give the Lord the glory? As a contemporary Christian, I want my car, food, nice clothes, & Jeffery's job to give him a regular schedule. I expect these things. But those are so very trivial. I should start at the end. Thank you Lord for a source of income! You are truly our source, but you give Jeffery an opportunity to work. I thank You, Lord, for clothes. They are so much nicer than much of the world could ever afford. Third world countries use hand me downs & cast offs until they wear out. I eat enough food to feed two Americans, and four people living in extreme situations of drought, famine, and poverty. How few in the world own cars? I have one, Jeffery has one. I am one spoiled rotten child of God. Thank you Lord for still loving me.

I caught myself on Tuesday complaining about Jeffery having to add another day to his busy work schedule next week. The Holy Spirit, checked me. I immediately did a spiritual u-turn! I began thanking the Lord for giving Jeffery a steady job, especially in this economy with such high unemployment. Then, I began to thank Jesus for blessing us with funds that we will need later. He knows the future. We rarely have extra. But He always supplies our needs when an extra event pops up.

So, last night, I learned that we may be owing our apartment complex more than I budgeted for leaving & moving into a house. Well, Praise the Lord Jesus from whom all blessings flow! Didn't He just let us know on Tuesday that we'd be needing it?
(me laughing at myself ;)  )

  1. It can be hard to remember to be thankful in this crazy busy life. ;) It's a good lesson for us all.
