"Minni don't burn no fried chicken!" - "The Help"

I must confess that I watched a movie with more cursing than I usually tolerate. The emotional history lesson was priceless. I really connected with the women going through segregation era ideals and problems. But it definitely was not for children. I also do not condone the secret ingredient in the fabulous chocolate pie.

Now, for my exciting input into this topic! I actually fried chicken tonight! WooHoo! I am very happy to report that the fire was the tea bag tag being lit by the eye, not the chicken! No smoke alarms went off! Nick's great compliment to me was, "It looks like Chick Fil A chicken." Jaime agreed & spoke with enthusiasm, "Eat Mor Chikin!" Kristen didn't really talk much, she just said the blessing quietly and began eating, without waiting for anyone else! I do say it was pretty good! I learned three things today from failing in the past. First of all, I should always directly season the chicken as well as the breading. Second, cutting along the grain of muscle makes it look better. And finally the secret: use coconut oil! It seems to have a higher smoking point. So I didn't get splattered grease on me nor on the stove! So enjoy some good fried chicken, & follow Minni's advise, don't burn it!

Boycotting

Remember when Christians boycotted Disney? I just received an email  from my step mom. She suggested we boycott imports. Live import free for just one month on everything you buy. Our economy is very bad right now. But if every American would purchase only American items for a whole month, we could make a difference in our economy. The article went on to say that if we did it for one month, we might could continue to do it. We used to be known for our ingenuity. Now we just buy cheaper stuff from other countries. Let's continue to use our imagination to eliminate foreign goods from our pantries and decorations.

Let's boycott inferior, possibly even dangerous imports. China shipped us tainted toothpaste, deadly dog food, cadmium cups for McDonald's, and little lead painted toys.
I will take up her challenge. I hope you will too!

Thankfullness

There is so much in life to be thankful for. Waking up every morning is a gift. The gift of seeing the sun, your spouse, your children, your family and friends. such daily treasures. Do we really give the Lord the glory? As a contemporary Christian, I want my car, food, nice clothes, & Jeffery's job to give him a regular schedule. I expect these things. But those are so very trivial. I should start at the end. Thank you Lord for a source of income! You are truly our source, but you give Jeffery an opportunity to work. I thank You, Lord, for clothes. They are so much nicer than much of the world could ever afford. Third world countries use hand me downs & cast offs until they wear out. I eat enough food to feed two Americans, and four people living in extreme situations of drought, famine, and poverty. How few in the world own cars? I have one, Jeffery has one. I am one spoiled rotten child of God. Thank you Lord for still loving me.

I caught myself on Tuesday complaining about Jeffery having to add another day to his busy work schedule next week. The Holy Spirit, checked me. I immediately did a spiritual u-turn! I began thanking the Lord for giving Jeffery a steady job, especially in this economy with such high unemployment. Then, I began to thank Jesus for blessing us with funds that we will need later. He knows the future. We rarely have extra. But He always supplies our needs when an extra event pops up.

So, last night, I learned that we may be owing our apartment complex more than I budgeted for leaving & moving into a house. Well, Praise the Lord Jesus from whom all blessings flow! Didn't He just let us know on Tuesday that we'd be needing it?
(me laughing at myself ;)  )

Encouragement

"yes girl, I believe in your dream!!!! :D"
That was all it took to bring tears to my eyes. I needed that like cool water in a desert. My dream for a unwed pregnant mothers' home just doesn't materialize, even after years of dreaming, planning, & prayer. All I needed were a few words of encouragement today. Thank you Cindy Delapaz!

The Vision

I sat during the service in a small brown church with cornflower blue windows. The Preacher sermonized on a great topic, I can’t remember which one. My eyes drifted for a while to the cool pattern in the window. It looked like a hand. I didn’t remember seeing patterns there before. The closed hand knocked on an invisible door. Next, a Hand reached down in answer. His Hand opened, revealing a sack. Sprouting out of the top of the sack was a blooming flower. I did not even realize it was a vision until after church. I explained to my mother what I had seen. She told me it was a vision from the Lord. I was only in fifth grade.

Do ten year olds really get visions from the Lord? The Bible says in Acts chapter two, verse seventeen:

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God; I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:”

So, yes, it is biblical. They young will have visions.
But what did it mean? I have not known for thirty-one years. Friday, June 24th, I began praying Proverbs chapter three verse twenty-seven. “With hold no good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.” TheKingJamesBibleOnline.org
There is another biblical concept I began praying, when a worker is due payment, pay them. See Leviticus 19:13:
“You shall not defraud your neighbor; neither rob him the wages of him that is hired. The wages shall not abide with you all night until morning.” King James modified to extract “thees, thines, & thous.”
Also found Jeremiah 22:13:
“Woe to him the company builds his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; the company uses his neighbor’s service without wages, and gives him not for his work.”
So during the move of the Holy Spirit on Sunday June 26th, the Lord brought back to my memory this vision.
One more piece of the puzzle:
June 28th, Jeffery & I went to look at two houses. After the amazing second house, I saw the realtor’s father sitting in the car. He told me his testimony of healing. The Lord had healed him of terminal cancer back in 2003! Wow! I started crying. We are dealing with a similar situation in our extended family. So he prayed. We prayed. Then he said, “And then the Word of God will bloom in you.” As he gestured his hand wide open, just as in the vision!
I know the Lord is answering our prayers. I know God hears us. The Lord is showing me the meaning of the vision!

Proverbs 3:27

Proverbs 3:27

Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do [it].
That means if a person is owed love, money, friendship, praise etc, you should give the good to the person. Do not let goodness pouring from you to take energy from you. Your strength comes from the Lord anyway.

Pro Life

I must say, I think this should be done. So many people do not realize that a woman is killing a person. Murder is illegal and abortion is legal. So obviously, someone has to tell these people!

Pro Life

I am very grateful my mother is Pro Life. Do you wish your mother had been pro choice & decided to 'choice' you into a trash can? What about taking your arms off & laying them on a table, then ripping off your legs, & pulling out your body and head. The doctor then does a full body part count to make sure he didn't leave any of you in your mother before he takes out the afterbirth. Then the doctor either throws you away or sells you to a company to throw you in a blender to pull all your stem cells out to do research. So to the your mother you would have been a choice to discard to keep her jerk of a boyfriend or to keep her girlish figure. The abortion doctor wanted you to make money on the procedure and to sell your body pieces for an extra profit. How disgusting. How far down the human sewer we have come to think this is okay and I am the one censored?
